Vindhyachal is a religious city famous for Goddess Vindhyavasini (Shakteepeth) in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple is approx. 85 kilometres from Prayagraj and 70 kilometres from Varanasi.

The goddess incarnated to kill the demon Mahishasura as mentioned in the Markandeya Purana. Needless to say, It is one of the presiding deity Vindhyavasini Devi’s most revered Siddhapeeths.

Every day, a large number of people visit the temple. We can see a regular crowd of the local public almost every day. People come here with strong belief & get fulfil their wishes. But, During the months of Chaitra (April) and Ashwin (October), large congregations are held. Interesting competitions for Kajali also take place in the month of Jyestha (June). During the Kumbh Mela Prayagraj, millions of devotees also visit the ancient temple of Mata.

This city is parted by the Ganga River. The temple is only 2 kilometres from the Kali Khoh.

The temple is easily reachable from Prayagraj. Road connectivity is very good & it takes 2-3 hrs to reach Vindhyachal depending upon the crowd. In addition to that, A Railway Station is in Vindhyachal (Station Code- BDL) also. The distance from the Railway station to the Vindhyachal temple is just 1 Kilometre. Although not many but few trains are available from Prayagraj to Vindhyachal. Also, The temple can be visit en-route to Varanasi from Prayagraj. The temple is a must-visit attraction for devotees coming to Varanasi & Prayagraj.
